You’ll receive 1 (one) credit code equal to the value of a Mini: €35 / £35 / $40 USD / $65 NZD, redeemable towards any 50 mL Eau de Parfum.

Please note, gift sets and other promotional bundles do not qualify for this credit.

No. Credit codes only apply to full-priced Minis or Discovery Sets.

Your Perfume Mini Credit code is automatically emailed to you within a few days of purchasing your 6 mL Mini (or Discovery Mini Perfume Set). It will be sent to the same email address used for your order — be sure to check your spam or promotions folder if you don’t see it.

Each voucher is unique and valid for €35 / £35 / $40 USD / $65 NZD off your next 50 mL Eau de Parfum purchase.

If it hasn’t arrived after one day, please contact us at [email protected] and include your order number so our team can investigate and resend your voucher.

Please also note that you may need to be subscribed to our newsletter to ensure your email provider recognises our messages — otherwise, your inbox may skip or filter the voucher email from being delivered.

Please ensure you’re using the code correctly (copy and paste directly from the email). If you’re still experiencing issues, contact our customer service team at [email protected].

Your credit voucher can be redeemed online at abelfragrance.com and us.abelfragrance.com.

INGREDIENTS & FORMULATION

No — we don’t use synthetic ingredients derived from petroleum.

All of our fragrances are made from 100% natural ingredients, sourced from plants, yeast, or fungi. We are proudly fossil fuel–free.

Some ingredients are created using modern techniques like fermentation (similar to how wine or yoghurt is made), but they still come from natural sources.

Great question — this is where definitions can get confusing.

When we say “synthetic,” we’re referring to ingredients that are derived from petrochemicals (fossil fuels). We don’t use any of these in our fragrances.

Biotechnology, on the other hand, is simply a method of creating ingredients using natural sources. For example, we can use yeast or plant sugars and a fermentation process (similar to how wine or yoghurt is made) to create specific scent molecules.

So while the process is modern, the origin remains natural.

In other words:

  • Synthetic = fossil fuel–derived (which we avoid)
  • Biotech = nature-derived ingredients, created in a more sustainable and precise way

This allows us to be 100% natural and fossil fuel–free, while also using innovation to create high-performing, consistent, and more sustainable fragrances.

Every molecule in our perfumes originates from nature or renewable biotech processes — never
petrochemicals. We use a highly concentrated formula of plant-derived natural oils, concretes and isolates, set in a food-grade (non-denatured), organic alcohol base.

Yes. Creating natural perfume that is chic, modern and long-lasting is our raison d’etre. We use a highly concentrated formula of plant-derived natural oils, concretes and isolates, set in a food-grade (non-denatured), organic alcohol base.

In perfume, “biotech” refers to fragrance ingredients created using living organisms like plant sugars, bacteria, fungi, or yeast through a natural fermentation process rather than petrochemicals.

At Abel, biotechnology allows the brand to make 100% natural fragrances that still perform like modern synthetics — long-lasting, refined, and complex. These biotech notes are renewable, biodegradable, and low-impact, often replacing traditional synthetic molecules that harm ecosystems.

For example, Abel’s Laundry Day uses a biotech aldehyde (traditionally synthetic) to achieve its crisp, “clean-linen” note, and Cyan Nori uses a biotech musk from the ambrette flower — a biodegradable alternative to petrochemical musks.

In essence, biotech in perfumery is nature enhanced by science — allowing Abel to create high-performing, sustainable scents that remain entirely natural.

Because Abel perfumes are made entirely from natural ingredients, slight variations in scent or colour can occur between batches. This is a natural characteristic of working with plant-based materials — much like wine or olive oil, seasonal and geographic differences in harvests can subtly affect the aroma and hue of certain ingredients.

For example, Cyan Nori may lean more towards its tangerine sweetness or its oceanic nori note depending on the harvest strength that year. The formula itself never changes — the same quantities and ingredients are always used — but natural raw materials can differ slightly in intensity or tone.

Abel embraces this variation as part of the beauty and authenticity of natural perfumery. It’s also worth noting that natural fragrances are often recognised by the brain as “safe,” meaning our olfactory system adjusts more quickly, which can make them seem lighter or shorter-lasting than petrochemical perfumes. Longevity can be extended by applying to clothing or hair.

Natural ingredients vary like wine vintages depending on rainfall, soil, and harvest. The formula stays constant, but intensity shifts slightly — a mark of authenticity.

Like a natural wine, we choose not to filter our fragrances, either with a physical membrane filter (which dilutes and changes the profile of our fragrances), or with chemical filters. Sometimes sediment can develop after an amount of time in the bottle. It’s nothing of concern and doesn’t impact the shelf life of the perfume nor the fragrance profile, it’s just a natural reaction that has taken place.

PRODUCT COMPOSITION & SAFETY

You’ll find INCI ingredients on the bottom of our perfume boxes and product ingredient list pages. These aren’t our actual ingredients (e.g. what we ‘add’ to the fragrance) but a regulatory requirement to declare any compounds in the overall fragrance formula (which are naturally occurring) that are potentially allergenic. So unless you have sensitivities, you needn’t worry about the INCI list. You can find the full list of ingredients used for each fragrance on their own product pages.

No. The INCI list purely lists molecules found in the scent that are potential allergens. Most (almost all) fragrance houses will not share their full ingredients list, only the INCI list, required by law.

Our fragrance Nurture, specifically designed to be low-allergen and pregnancy-safe, is a great example of this. A key ingredient is Bergamot Essential Oil. Because we know that Bergaptene, a molecule that naturally occurs in Bergamot Essential Oil can be associated with pigmentation, something that can be problematic to expecting mothers, we use a special Bergamot Oil that has had the Bergaptene molecule isolated and removed to make the fragrance maternity safe.

There is often confusion between petrochemical and plant derived molecules that share the same molecular structure and therefore, name. The distinction lies in the source material. All molecules on our INCI list are molecules that exist in nature and in the ingredients in our scents. We never add these molecules to our fragrances and they are never from petrochemical sources.

Below is a list and explanation of specific high-allergen INCI ingredients commonly found on our fragrance INCI lists.

  • Limonene - According to the EWG, limonene is "a scent ingredient and solvent naturally occurring in the rind of citrus fruit." For example, our Golden Neroli fragrance features substantial citrus ingredients, which have a relatively high allergen content. This is because many people have sensitivities to citrus, similar to those experienced with consuming citrus fruits. We do not add Limonene to the fragrance itself.
  • Benzyl Salicylate according to pubchem Benzyl Salicylate is a molecule that is naturally occuring “in the flower oils of hyacinths and ylang-ylang oil”. For example, a key ingredient in our Golden Neroli fragrance is ylang-ylang. We do not  add Benzyl Salicylate to the fragrance itself.

We believe in full transparency, which is why you can read our perfume guide to view the full ingredients list for each fragrance.

Our fragrances can have a higher allergen content than their synthetic counterparts due to plant-derived ingredients tending to have more allergies than synthetic ingredients - we all know friends and family who suffer hayfever and you're more likely to be allergic to plants than to plastic! All the ingredients in our fragrances are naturally occurring allergens derived from plants, not synthetic chemicals. People can have sensitivities to these molecules just as they do to certain foods.

All our 100% natural fragrances are safe to wear during pregnancy and postpartum (including breastfeeding).

Our functional fragrance, Nurture, is specifically designed with ingredients that are naturally low allergens to ensure safety during pregnancy and around little ones. Explore Nurture.

NO - We do NOT use BPA, Phthalates, Preservatives, Parabens or Endocrine Disruptors in any of our fragrances.

Our fragrances are non-toxic, with the full ingredients published. All our fragrances are formulated without harmful chemicals, ensuring a safer experience for all.

Read more about our non-toxic perfume.

All of our fragrances are gluten-free. However, if you have celiac disease, we advise caution as our products are not certified under FDA gluten-free labelling guidelines. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

We recommend checking out our perfume guide for our full ingredient list and detailed information on each fragrances ingredients.

No. Our perfumes and room sprays use an organic grain alcohol base, so they do contain alcohol.

Our 100% natural fragrances are formulated without harmful chemicals, ensuring a safer experience for all.  For individuals with sensitive skin or allergies, non-toxic perfumes are a gentler option. The absence of synthetic chemicals minimises the risk of skin irritation and allergic reactions, making these perfumes suitable for everyday use.

WEAR & PERFORMANCE

Natural perfumes can seem to fade faster because of how the brain and body perceive and process natural scent molecules. Unlike synthetic (petrochemical) perfumes, which are engineered for extreme longevity, natural fragrances are composed of plant-derived molecules that the body recognises as familiar and safe.

This recognition causes a phenomenon known as olfactory adaptation — your brain stops registering the scent after a period of exposure, even though others around you can still smell it. It’s the same reason you stop noticing the smell of your own home or shampoo after a while.

Additionally, natural materials are generally lighter and more volatile, meaning they evaporate more quickly on the skin. Factors such as skin type, temperature, and humidity can also influence wear time.

To extend longevity, apply natural perfume to clothing or hair, or layer with other scents — always spraying the heavier fragrance first and the lighter one on top.

Moisturise (with a fragrance-free cream or oil) before applying your perfume — dry skin absorbs fragrance oils faster. Perfume applied to hair or clothing will also last longer. Remember, when applied close to your nose (like your neck), you may become desensitised — others will still smell it even if you can’t.

To layer Abel perfumes, always spray the heavier, deeper scent first, then apply the lighter or fresher one on top. This lets the base fragrance anchor on the skin while the lighter notes radiate above it, creating a more dimensional and lasting result.

Because Abel perfumes are made entirely from natural ingredients, they blend seamlessly together — layering allows you to personalise your scent and shift its mood to suit the moment.

Here are a few examples:

  • Cobalt Amber + Pink Iris – sweet amber meets fresh floral; luminous and modern.
  • Cyan Nori + Laundry Day – oceanic freshness paired with crisp citrus; bright and effortless.
  • Coat Check + The Apartment – dark smoky amber layered with gourmand cherry and cacao; deep, modern and sophisticated.
  • Pause + Nurture – textured floral meets soft musk; grounding yet gentle.
  • Green Cedar + Laundry Day – earthy woods balanced with fresh citrus; clean, natural and uplifting.

These are starting points only. Layering is entirely personal – experiment with combinations to find what feels most like you. Please note that the lighter scent should always be applied last.

To keep your Abel perfume at its best, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Heat, light, and moisture can cause natural ingredients to break down more quickly, affecting both scent and colour over time.

Here are a few key tips:

  • Avoid bathrooms and windowsills – temperature and humidity changes can alter a perfume’s composition.

  • Keep the bottle sealed tightly when not in use to prevent oxidation.

  • Store upright and away from heat sources such as radiators or heaters.

  • Room temperature (around 18–20°C) is ideal.

Because Abel perfumes are 100% natural and contain no synthetic stabilisers, proper storage helps preserve their integrity and ensure the scent remains true from first to last spritz.

ETHICS & VALUES

Yes, our entire fragrance collection is cruelty-free PETA certified.

Where there is a sustainable, higher quality and cruelty-free animal by product, we will use it in our formula. Our reformulated fragrances use an innovative ambrettolide (musk note) that is a by-product of the lac beetle. We choose this ingredient as the most sustainable and long-lasting natural alternative to petrochemical musks.

Our collection is cruelty free PETA certified.

PERFUMES

Yes, absolutely. Our 6 mL Perfume Minis are the perfect way to experience an Abel scent before committing to a full size. Each Mini is identical in formulation to our 50 mL Eau de Parfum, allowing you to test how it wears on your skin throughout the day.

If you’d like guidance on where to start, try our Fragrance Finder Quiz — it will suggest scents based on your preferences and mood. Once you’ve found a favourite, your Mini purchase also includes a credit equal to its value towards your next 50 mL bottle.

Each Eau de Parfum has a minimum 15% concentration of perfume oil.

Our perfumes and room sprays have a use-by date of 24 months after opening.

ROOM SPRAYS

We don’t recommend wearing our Room Sprays on your skin. They’re formulated differently from our Eau de Parfums, designed to scent spaces rather than be worn as personal fragrance.

While both use 100% natural ingredients, Room Sprays contain a higher concentration of natural ethanol and are optimised for diffusion and surface safety — not for direct skin application.

If you love a particular Room Spray scent and wish to wear something similar, explore our Eau de Parfum range instead. Each perfume is crafted for skin wear, with a balanced concentration of natural and biotech ingredients that evolve beautifully throughout the day.

Spray into open air or over robust fabrics like linen. Avoid delicate materials such as silk.

Yes — all Abel Room Sprays are safe for use around children and pets as long as no one is allergic or sensitive to any of the ingredients. You can find the full list of ingredients for each scent on its respective product page.

Each Room Spray is made from 100% natural, non-toxic ingredients, free from synthetic additives, phthalates, and parabens. However, because they contain natural ethanol for diffusion, it’s best to:

  • Spray into open air, not directly onto skin, fabrics, or animals.

  • Allow a few minutes of ventilation before children or pets re-enter a freshly sprayed room.

  • Avoid spraying near cages, beds, or feeding areas for pets.

When used as directed, Abel Room Sprays offer a safe, natural way to refresh your space.
